Circles of sterling silver were put through a rolling mill while sandwiched between sheets of sandpaper so that they were textured on both sides. The resulting textured flat oval sheets were then made into curved shapes using a doming block.
The sandpaper creates a texture in which light reflects off the silver at multiple angles. This is further enhanced by the curved shape. Large jump rings were added to allow the earrings to move freely and catch the light.
