As an experiment I decided to try a mixed metal lamination of silver and copper to make a set of earrings.

A design was cut out of a sheet of sterling silver by piercing holes in the silver and cutting out the design. The silver sheet was then soldered onto a copper sheet of a greater thickness than the silver. The combined sheet was put through a rolling mill multiple times thinning the sheet and pushing the copper through the holes in the silver until the copper and silver became flush with each other. The earring shapes were then cut out from the sheet and shaped using a doming block.

The front view of the earrings shows how the copper has been pushed flush with the silver during the rolling process. On the back of the earrings only the copper can be seen.
